Fly Screen Cleaning

Clean mesh, better airflow, included with your window clean.

Fly Screen Cleaning, AW Pressure Washing, Sydney

How does fly screen cleaning work?

Fly screens quietly collect everything the wind carries, dust, pollen, salt, cobwebs and insects, and because the mesh is dark it hides all of it until the light hits the right way. A dirty screen also undoes a fresh window clean the moment the sun shows the film through it.

We remove each screen where it lifts out safely, hand-wash the mesh and frame with a soft brush and low pressure, rinse it through and refit it once it's dry. Screens that are fixed or too brittle to move get cleaned carefully in place. No pressure washer ever touches the mesh.

It makes a bigger difference than people expect: more light through the window, better airflow when it's open, and less dust blowing inside. We clean fly screens at no extra charge as part of any window cleaning job.

How we do it

Our 4-Step Process

with AW SpotBlock Tech.

We start by scrubbing every pane with a soft applicator and an eco-friendly cleaning solution, lifting dust, grime and cobwebs before they have a chance to streak.

A professional-grade squeegee removes the solution and loosened grime in clean, controlled passes — the technique that gets a genuinely streak-free finish, with no drips or haze.

We detail the frames, edges, corners and tracks — the parts a quick clean usually misses — so the whole window looks finished, not just the glass.

We finish with SpotBlock Tech — a protective barrier that helps water bead and run off, so dirt, dust and mineral deposits are less likely to stick. That means less water spotting between cleans and windows that stay clearer for longer.

FAQ

Fly Screen Cleaning, your questions answered

Do you take the fly screens out to clean them?

Yes, where they lift out safely we remove each screen, wash the mesh and frame, rinse it down and refit it once it's dry. Screens that are fixed, painted in or too brittle to move we clean carefully in place instead, and we'll tell you which is which before we start.

Will cleaning damage old or brittle mesh?

We check every screen first. Older fibreglass mesh goes brittle in the Sydney sun and can split if it's forced, so we work by hand with a soft brush and low pressure, never a pressure washer on mesh. If a screen is already torn or perished we'll point it out rather than make it worse.

Does this get rid of the dust that blows inside?

Largely, yes. Fly screens trap dust, pollen, salt and cobwebs, and every breeze pushes some of it through the mesh into the house. Washing the screens cuts down what comes inside and noticeably improves the airflow through an open window.

Is fly screen cleaning included with a window clean?

Yes, we clean your fly screens as part of any window cleaning job at no extra charge. There's no point washing the glass and refitting a dusty screen over the top of it.

Will my windows streak or spot afterwards?

No, we squeegee and detail every pane, then finish with AW SpotBlock Tech, a treatment that helps water bead and run off so the glass stays clearer between cleans. That’s the difference between a genuine professional finish and a quick wipe-over.

Do you clean the frames and tracks too, or just the glass?

We detail the frames, sills, edges and corners as part of the clean, the parts a quick job usually skips. A deeper track detail (the runners) is available as an add-on if the tracks need it.

Are you fully insured?

Yes, AW Pressure Washing is fully insured, and we're owner-operated, so the person who quotes your job is the person responsible for the result.

Is the quote really free and fixed?

Yes. Quotes are free and fixed, you'll know the price before we start, with no hourly meter and no surprises on the invoice. A quick call with a couple of photos is usually all we need.

Pressure washing or soft washing: which will you use?

Whichever the surface needs. Hard surfaces like concrete driveways take high pressure; render, roofs, timber and painted surfaces get a low-pressure soft wash. We are trained in both and always match the method to the material.
