How does concrete cleaning work?
Concrete is everywhere around a property, paths, patios, garage floors, courtyards and stairs, and it collects mould, moss, oil, leaf stains and general grime until it turns a dull, blotchy grey. We clean concrete with a flat surface cleaner that delivers an even, stripe-free finish across the whole area, not the patchy result you get from a handheld wand.
Stubborn oil and organic staining is pre-treated so it actually lifts rather than just lightening, and we match the pressure to the concrete's condition so nothing gets etched or damaged.
Clean concrete is safer underfoot with the slippery mould gone, and it instantly freshens up the look of the whole property.
We clean plain, broom-finished, coloured, stencilled and exposed aggregate concrete, as well as concrete stairs, retaining walls, garage floors, pool surrounds and side paths. Each finish takes a different pressure and speed: coloured and stencilled concrete is cleaned more gently so the surface finish is not worn back, while plain concrete can take a firmer clean.
Concrete driveway cleaning, patios and paths can all be done in one visit, which is usually cheaper than booking each area separately. Can you get oil and rust stains out of concrete?
We pre-treat oil, rust and organic stains before cleaning so they actually lift rather than just lightening. Very old, deeply soaked-in oil can leave a faint shadow, and we'll tell you honestly what to expect before we start.
Will cleaning leave stripe marks across the concrete?
No. We use a flat surface cleaner that gives an even, consistent finish across the whole slab, not the zebra-striping you get from a handheld wand.
Can you clean coloured or stencilled concrete?
Yes. Coloured and stencilled concrete gets a gentler clean so the surface finish and colour are not worn back. We will check its condition before starting.
Can you clean a garage floor?
Yes. Garage floors are cleaned to lift oil drips, tyre marks and ground-in dirt. The space needs to be cleared of cars and stored items first.
What removes mould and moss from concrete?
Mould, moss and algae are treated, then the concrete is cleaned with a flat surface cleaner. Treating the growth, not just blasting it, means it takes longer to come back.
Do you clean concrete for businesses and strata?
Yes. We clean concrete forecourts, walkways, car parks and common areas for businesses and strata complexes, and can schedule the work outside trading hours.
How often should I have this done?
For most Sydney homes, every 12–18 months keeps mould and grime from taking hold, sooner for properties near the coast, under trees, or in damp, shaded spots. On an AW+ plan we track the timing for you so it never gets forgotten.
Do I need to be home while you work?
Not necessarily. As long as we can access the areas being cleaned and an outdoor tap, plenty of our residential jobs are done while you're out, we confirm everything beforehand and send photos when it's finished.
Are you fully insured?
Yes, AW Pressure Washing is fully insured, and we're owner-operated, so the person who quotes your job is the person responsible for the result.
Is the quote really free and fixed?
Yes. Quotes are free and fixed, you'll know the price before we start, with no hourly meter and no surprises on the invoice. A quick text with a couple of photos is usually all we need.
Pressure washing or soft washing: which will you use?
Whichever the surface needs. Hard surfaces like concrete driveways take high pressure; render, roofs, timber and painted surfaces get a low-pressure soft wash. We are trained in both and always match the method to the material.
