How does sandstone cleaning work?
Sydney is full of sandstone, paths, retaining walls, steps, pavers and feature walls, and because it's soft and porous, it holds moss, black mould and grime badly, especially on the shaded side of a property. We clean sandstone with a low-pressure soft wash approach that lifts the growth and staining without pitting, scarring or blowing out the soft stone.
High pressure is the wrong tool for natural sandstone, it eats into the surface and leaves permanent marks. We treat the stone gently and let the cleaning solution do the work, bringing back the natural golden colour underneath.

Is pressure cleaning safe for sandstone?
Sandstone is softer and more porous than concrete, so it gets a lower-pressure, controlled clean rather than a hard blast. That lifts the mould, algae and staining without pitting or scarring the stone.
Can you remove the black and green staining from my sandstone?
Yes. That black and green is algae, lichen and organic growth that thrives on porous stone. We treat and clean it back to the natural colour, and because we treat it rather than just rinse it, it's slower to return.
How often should I have this done?
For most Sydney homes, every 12–18 months keeps mould and grime from taking hold, sooner for properties near the coast, under trees, or in damp, shaded spots. On an AW+ plan we track the timing for you so it never gets forgotten.
Do I need to be home while you work?
Not necessarily. As long as we can access the areas being cleaned and an outdoor tap, plenty of our residential jobs are done while you're out, we confirm everything beforehand and send photos when it's finished.

Whichever the surface needs. Hard surfaces like concrete driveways take high pressure; render, roofs, timber and painted surfaces get a low-pressure soft wash. We are trained in both and always match the method to the material.
